Working at a height of more than ten meters is inherently less safe than working on the ground or at lower altitudes. Factors such as the height itself or a lack of familiarity with scissor lifts operation can pose significant risks during the work process. Therefore, we strongly recommend that operators undergo professional training, pass an assessment, and obtain the appropriate operating license before using the hydraulic scissor lift. Training is essential for ensuring safe operations. If you are an employer, it is your responsibility to provide adequate training for your employees.
Before applying for an operating license, operators are required to complete formal training, which includes two components: theoretical and practical instruction:
1. Theoretical Training: Covers the structural principles of the electric scissor lift platform, safe operating procedures, and other essential knowledge to ensure that operators fully understand the equipment.
2. Practical Training: Focuses on hands-on practice in equipment operation and maintenance, enhancing the operator’s practical skills.
Upon completing the training, operators must undergo a formal assessment to obtain their operating license. The assessment includes two parts:
*Theoretical Examination: Tests the operator’s understanding of the equipment’s principles and safety guidelines.
*Practical Examination: Evaluates the operator’s ability to handle the equipment safely and efficiently.
Only after passing both examinations can an operator apply for an operating license from the local industrial and commercial administration or relevant authorities.
Once the operating license is obtained, operators must strictly adhere to the aerial scissor lift’s operating regulations and safety precautions, which include:
*Pre-operation Inspections: Check the equipment to ensure it functions properly and meets safety requirements.
*Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate gear, such as safety helmets and safety shoes.
*Familiarity with Equipment: Understand the working principles of the lift, including the use of controllers and emergency stop devices.
*Focused Operation: Maintain focus, follow specified work procedures, and adhere to the operating manual’s requirements.
*Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the aerial lift platform’s load capacity, and secure all items properly.
*Awareness of the Surroundings: Ensure there are no obstacles, bystanders, or other hazards in the operational area.
By following these guidelines and undergoing proper training, operators can significantly reduce risks and ensure safer work at heights.
